After the conclusion of the Z-A Battle Royale, mysterious portals into Hyperspace began popping up all over Lumiose City. These portals contained wild Pokemon and trainers that were somehow way stronger than anything Zalno ever faced. So he decided to call in several of his old favorites.

While he couldn't bring his complete Elite Team with him, he managed to bring TROGDOR, TRON, Espa and Alastor. He also brought Bowie to bring some extra Mega Evolution muscle should the need arise. Finally, he brought the Zeraora he received back in Alola. This team composition proved somewhat awkward. While Bowie and Zeraora had visited multiple regions and interacted with Zalno's other Pokemon, this would be the first time Bowie joined an adventuring party in decades. And Zeraora had never been on a Pokemon journey period. He certainly hadn't spent much time with this group.
